Cut from textured slabs of earthenware clay, my spinner's tools are created, one at a time, by me in my home studio.
Occasionally, I use the naturals from my own garden - sometimes the wonderful finds when walking through the park. This one, however, was textured with one of the many odds and ends I've collected over the years.
I like tools that work - I like pretty tools - but, mostly, I like making pretty tools that work!
My dizzes measure approximately 2 ¼ inches long by 1 ½ inches wide, and typically have 3 holes (3/8”, 1/4”, and 1/8”) for pulling your roving. I've found that the concave shape is easier to hold, so makes the job a little less difficult.
