Handspun Yarn (70-30 Merino-Silk) - Strawflowers - 250 yards - Heavy Worsted Weight
Strawflowers - a handspun, thick and thin, heavy worsted weight yarn spun from luscious hand-dyed Merino and Silk. This 250 yards of 2-ply weighs about 4 ounces with a WPI of 11-12. Pale greens, soft yellows with a bit of peach, it would be ideal worn with just about anything.
The soft, silky hand of the yarn will make for a very interesting texture in a knitted or crocheted piece - nice and warm as a scarf or cowl - or fingerless mitts - or cozy gloves. It drapes beautifully!
Although I do use hand spindles, most of my yarns are spun and plied on my trusty, hard-working Ashford wheel and finished with a warm bath in Eucalan or lavendar wash.
Because it is handspun, there will be slight differences throughout - that’s the beauty of handmade.
Hand wash, please, and lay flat to dry - it will felt.
The skein can be wound into a center pull ball if you choose - I’ll be glad to do it for you, and there will be no extra charge for it. Unless I hear otherwise, though, it will be shipped in skein form.
I don’t allow my curious kitties to play in the fibers, but they do like to supervise and once in a while a stray hair or two will find its way into the yarns. If you’re sensitive to cats, please bear this in mind.
