Handspun Yarn (Cormo) - 250 yards - Thick-Thin Bulky 2-ply - 6 oz.
Handspun from 6 ounces of creamy white Cormo wool, from sheep right here in Illinois, this yarn is soft, squishy - did I say soft? Definately can be worn next to the skin. It's a slightly thick and thin, bulky 2-ply and has a great hand.
The soft, silky hand of the yarn will make for a very interesting texture in a knitted or crocheted piece - nice and warm as a scarf or cowl. But, if you've seen the pattern for the 'Urchin' hat on Knitty.com, well, let's just say that this yarn would be a good match for it.
Although I do use hand spindles, most of my yarns are spun and plied on my trusty, hard-working Ashford wheel and finished with a warm bath in Eucalan or lavendar wash.
Because it is handspun, there will be slight differences throughout - that’s the beauty of handmade.
Hand wash, please, and lay flat to dry - it will felt.
The skein can be wound into a center pull ball if you choose - I’ll be glad to do it for you, and there will be no extra charge for it. Unless I hear otherwise, though, it will be shipped in skein form.
